I'm using the regular pf tek with 1/4 cup water and brf and 1/2 cup water and half pint jars. After pressure cooking the cakes dont seem right. I opened one of the jars thats been sitting for about two weeks and it seems really dry, i dont know if this is normal or what? I dont want to waste a syringe if i dont have to, can anyone help me with this problem or maybe tell me something else that might be wrong

why were the jars sitting for two weeks?
your recipe is wrong, by the way.
you need to add vermiculite to hold water.

if you followed the recipe, it should be ok. it really depends on your interpretation of "really dry"... but it shouldn't seem wet. it should basically look as it did when you put it in the jars at the beginning.
if its significantly dryer than that, you'll have to tell us more to figure where you went wrong... we ain't psychics
what was it covered with? whats your lid like? how were you storing it those two weeks? etc.

The tops are taped and have aluminum foil over the top. They have been stored in a dark closet with temps anywhere from 76-82. I have had plenty of success with this recipe and tk. I have had three grows one of 8 jars, 16, and 32, all which have gone good. I'm just worried i might be doing something wrong cause the jars look a little different then they did before with my other projects

well it doesn't sound like there's any reason they would have dried out in those 2 weeks then. it had to be how you prepared them at the start.
why let em sit for 2 weeks though? you CAN keep them around quite a while when they're well covered (sounds like yours were), but its best to use them fresh for best results. if you're worried about wasting a syringe, i'd say make up some new ones to play it safe.

i made some that sat for 2 weeks before i added spores. i thought they looked really dry, the sides of the jars looked dry and everything. then by the time the jars were almost fully colonized the inside of the jars were dripping wet.
