Cakes won't pin......day 13

I did my PF cakes with the low moisture content 40cc per jar, and now it does'nt seem like they wanna grow very much and two of them won't pin at all.
My question is should I go ahead and dunk them?

It's too late, unless you want to screw your first flush. Just give it a few more days. It's not uncommon for pinning to take 2 weeks or longer.

okay i have two cakes that are not pinning I've even gone as far as to give them their own fruiting chamber because I've started to worry about a contam problem but still no signs of one. The rest of the cakes from this grow look exactly like the ones not pinning but they are on the third flush in week 4 of fruiting. I've dunked and rolled but it didn't stop vegetative growth for fruiting. Mycelium is running off the base of it and all over. These are very healthy cakes. They look no different than my ones that have been producing wonderfully for me. I've heard of two weeks for fruiting but 4?!!

Yea, that is kind of strange. Give some more details. It's possible that you didn't get enough spores to germinate and your myc didn't find mates. Or any mates that did happen produced non-fruiting myc. Clear, low spore density syringes can cause that problem. Another indicator would be if you only got germination at some of the inoc points.
Other than that I can't think of what would cause that problem if the cakes were provided an identical environment that fruited the others fine. I would advise you to check for clamp connections under a scope, but I'm guessing you don't have one. I would scrap them unless you are curious to learn something from them or figure out why they're not fruiting. Post some pics if you can.

Well, spotting clamps isn't all that easy unfortunately. Here is a pic of one that I took just yesterday...

I posted it in this thread... http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/5847823/ It's 1000X oil immersion.
Here's a diagram...
Ha! Here is a site with a much shittier picture of a clamp... http://www.mushroomexpert.com/microscope_clamps.html
Anyway if you can spot a clamp connection you will know that it's mated and become dikaryotic.
Personally I think you've got the low spore concentration clear syringe homo non-matus mystery funk blues going on.

Uh you guys lost me. Could you please explain further? What the Clamps?, Some of my cakes have grown mushies from this run, they're fairly small, but some won't pin. I was thinking of the dunk and roll dealio.
