for those using the mycodome
is it just me or does the water temp become warmer than the temp was adjusted to?
what's the ideal temp for specimens requiring 75 to 80 or 83 degreez? and would this apply to inside or outside the bucket?

it doesnt really matter if the heater makes the water warmer than it was set to. just set it a little lower. the water temp doesnt even really matter as long as the inside of the incubation chamber is somewhere between 80 and 85, so just shoot for that

I second Green as long as your chamber is round 83F or so it doesn't matter what the water is runing at. for example. my basement is DAMN COLD so i got my h2o runnin at like donno probably round high 80F's to low 90F's. but my chamber is dead on 84F and since your shooting for round 86F or so the mycillial growth will heat it up a few degrese. don't sweat it man.
edit: yea i dont really know what the mycodome is but im assumeing its similar operation to the bucket in a bucket incubator. and if not as long as the temp is at what its supposto be then that is all that matters. : end edit -SenselessRebel

a digital thermometer set on the outer side of the bucket with a sensor attached to a wire snaked into the bucket where teh jars are.
it has option for gauging outer and inner temps.

i think with the digital thermometers that come with the mycodome the outside setting reads from the sensor that is external that is attached with the wire and the inside setting reads from a different sensor inside of the plastic casing of the thermometer
