Know anything about vaporizers?

I'm looking for a model that is in the $100 range, but will vaporize at a consistent temperature, without being too low, or burning the weed.
There are cheap models that use the direct heat of a little metal plate, usually surrounded by a glass globe. I am told that these models are finicky, and will usually end up burning weed.
I've heard that the volcano is the best, but at over $500 dollars, it is a bit out of my price range.
The Vapor brothers vaporizer
(http://www.vaporwarehouse.com/store/shop.php?p=vb.html)
is supposed to be good, but I cant find a model for under $150.
The Vapir is a hand held model that is more expensive, and from what I hear, not as good. I've never used one myself though.
Does anyone know of any cheaper, but equally effective knockoffs for the vapor bros, or any cheap, effective vaporizers, for that matter?

I have a Vapor brothers, and I highly recommend them (pun intended)
Don't buy a knock off, buy the name brand
You wouldn't buy a rol3x wristwatch would you, instead of the rolex?
Check e-bay, last time I checked there (about 6 months ago) they were around $120 to your door.(just checked, yep still under $120 including shipping)
On a side note, make sure it has the newer heating element

vapor brothers is good, but another good brand on ebay is vaporwarez. they're just as good as vapor brothers, and they offer a hands free option. i like their whips better too.
here: http://cgi.ebay.com/Vaporizer-Vapor-Ware...1QQcmdZViewItem
by the way, the extra $20 is worth it for the hands free whip. nothings better than laying on the couch with a whip in your mouth and just pulling it whenever you want to.

Thanks to everyone who gave me info on this. I think I'll be getting vaporwarez, but I'm gonna sleep on it. by the way, what exactly is the difference between the standard whips, and the hands free model?

the hands free has a larger bowl that slides over the heating element, so you dont have to hold it there while you inhale.
its worth it, trust me on this.

vaporwarez is NOT the same as vaporbrothers although presumabely they are similar.
either way make sure to get the hands free model which vapor brothers also offers. i have a vapor brothers and sometimes when your a little too high it's easy to drop the whip and break the glass (14 $ replacement ouch!!)

I got my Volcano a year ago and it's one of the best investments I've ever made. It gives a slightly different high than smoking bowls though. Which is fine because when you do both, you cover all your bases . Those germans really know how to build something to last. And to whomever asked, yea, the smoke does get stale.
I've hit from Vap. Bros. before, and they're great for the money, but they don't touch the Volcano (but who would expect it to with such a price difference?). You can get a Volcano between 400-500 now I believe.

I've tried the Vape bros products and got kinda tired of inhaling plastic vapors. I saw an ad for Wickedroots.com and checked em out. They have three versions of vaporizors. One for your pipe, which is real handy for it's portability, the other two are table top models. The first and cheaper one is controllable but does not have a digital display to show the temp. The second one has the digital display and can be controlled very easily. I bought the second one and keep showing it off to my fellow tokers. This thing kicks ass because the herb never touches any heating element. Just hot air coming off of a ceramic heater. But the absolute best part is you get multiple hits off the same load. Seriously saving money on your herb of choice. The initial cash outlay is far and away offset by the savings in the baggie. The medical grade glassware and tubing is also a great benefit.

I own a silver surfer vaporizer. They are made in our state of Colorado.
Google them they are nice. It's not a wooden box. It has some artistic work to it and looks nice in a room.
I can score them way below retail if someone here is interested ($120 + ship)
Volcano is the best. Nothing will take away the good strong pull from my spoon though.
