Outdoor patch got flooded!

I watered the patch yesterday.. first day.. doing good I thought.. Today I did nothing all day and at 5 when I went to check it.. IT WAS FLOODED! I had to use a good bath towel to soak up shitwater! I laid down some grass seed so that it will germinate and suck up water in the future as well as some extra dry grass to help soak up the water already there...
There is still too much water.. just wondering if this will hurt it too much when it fruits... :-( Worried

You should make outdoor patches in a well drained area. RR

i grow mine like weed. goto a swamp and make a hill out of some dirt, large enough to place your patch. with the raised up dirt it wicks water like crazy so most of the time you shouldn't have to water but even if it gets overwatered, the water will run off. usually for mushrooms the hill looks like a platter intead of a hill because you need a flat surface to grow on instead of a mountain peak style hill with a plant at the peak.

Just because it got flooded, doesnt mean the patch is dead. I have heard of patches being under some water and still fruiting a few weeks later. Just watch the patch and see what happens.

never give up.
this is the perfect time to scope out some well-drained areas.
and plant several more patches there.
