goodbye to california

It's been a fun three years...
The weather is great (when it's not 119 degrees like it was this week) and the surf is awesome and the scenery is beautiful... but (yes to sound pretentious)... the people SUCK... the culture sucks balls...
Time to move back east... where I will actually be able to buy a house without having to win the lottery.
This is my last weekend in socal... time to catch my last wave....
anyone wanna buy a nice 7'3" gun-shaped surfboard really cheap? Like less than 100 bucks cheap? It's in great shape... I wouldn't pick it up unless you're 150lb or less.

Whay part of So Cal are you in? I grew up down there in Santa Ana, and used to hang out at Laguna, Corona Del Mar, Newport, Huntington, Seal beaches. That's about the only part I miss is the beaches and the warm ocean. That and the weather. Everything else, I enjoy much more here in the Northwest.

I moved here 3 years ago and touched down in Murietta/Lake Elsinore.. got the fuck out of there and hit up Huntington Beach for a year... now THAT was fuckin fun... got to surf every damn day of the year... then I ended up in Santa Clarita (Valencia Area).. yuck.
Yea the Santa Ana winds were great for waves.... nothing like a slow moving 6 foot wave that takes forever to build up.

I grew up in southern california and I will never go back to that dump. I need a real city like Chicago or NYC, not some sprawled-out wasteland of traffic and concrete. If you need a car to get around, it's not a real city.
fuck LA and all it's bitches. they're all fake and passive-aggressive. or dumb and rich.

N. Calif is where it's at in this state. Milder weather, diggety-dank, and cool, friendly people. Peace from the Redwoods

i make it a point to never go south of montery LA is so awful i havent been there since i was 8 not worth it at all iv lived in the same house sice i was born never left the bay area. this place is its own little world tho. it drives me crazy somtimes looking at the people here, but the plus side is theres enuff wilderness to get away. the farther north the mellower and more amazing CA becomes.

Morrow bay, CA is bomb place to visit. Especially when it's high tide season and the waves come crashing in near Morrow Rock. I love the fresh sea cod at Pismo's Fish and Chips. The Sea Elephants take residence around February not too far from Morrow Bay in San Luis Obisbo. All of which you can get to by Highway 1, which just happens to be a dynamite cruise. You see alot of old hot rods and bikers cruising through.
It's expensive to live there though, but lots of trails and a steady 68 degree weather year round. I love the pacific coastal region

Damn! Too bad I didn't see this post a couple weeks ago! That is the exact board I am looking for for my brother. He has me keeping an eye out for something like that for him. Is it still available, by chance? (I know, wishful thinking)
And for eveyone who rags on SoCal, you've just never gone far enough South! San Diego county is fucking nice! I have really enjoyed living in OB and I am looking forward to moving up to North SD county coast. Everything from Del Mar to Oceanside is really nice. But fuck anything North of SD county!!

PB was pretty cool
And yes it is still available. My g/f is still in LA taking care of some lose ends for the next 2 months. She has the board stored at a buddy's place. It's in good condition. The butt end was a little scuffed but touched up well with sun cure. I'll sell the board for 100 bucks (with the leash) just to get rid of it. If you're interested, PM me or find me on AIM (beachbulala). I'll try to arrange something with my buddy that's storing it.

Thanks for the board dude! Now I got something else to play on besides my big-ass longboard...that is, until my brother comes and confiscates it.
Oh, and heres my longboard in case you didn't see it.

damn.. that looks like something they'd surf in ventura.. ventura is all assholes with 9-13 foot boards that like to mow down anyone with a 7'6" or less just for fun.
I swear the follow me around and position themselves just so they can get me in their path, chase me, run me over, and then yell at me for getting in THEIR way. I got my tired slashed there once for not being a 'local'.
