when to pick aborts?

when is it best to pick the ones assumed to be aborts...
I assume the little ones in this pic are aborts.. They all(including the big ones) started at the same time..

I pick them when they start to darken. The Abort heads will turn from reddish orange to a dark brown or black. Combined with my observation of stunted growth I go ahead and pick them. L8rs.

My friend picks aborts when she harvests each flush. The trick is to learn the difference between an abort and a pin waiting its turn.
