i found these today growing out of horse poop after 2 days or so of rain.

the caps are about the size of a penny to the size of a quarter or a little larger. they were light yellowy/orange fadding white when picked and bruse a blueish grey. has dark brown gills. spore print dark brown/black.stems are long about 4+ inches pretty strong and flexable. can anyone tell me what they are? thanks for the help

They look like Panaeolus species.. As far as the bluing goes, are you sure that you're not imaging it?

Dark brown would mean Panaeolina.. which one is it? Black or dark brown?

They don't look like foenisecii from the pics, especially since they weren't growing from grass but rather straight from manure as you claim.

Probably some species of Panaeolus. Wait for other replies, but I say it is definitely not an active or edible species you have there.

i'm sorry about colors i'm moderatly color blind but 2 other people i was hunting with said it was blue so i was going with what they said and for the spore print i cant really trust my eyes to tell that

Going on the pics alone, I would guess inactive panaeolus... unless you can provide something more convincing about the bluing. MANY people have imagined bluing in the past.. especially when they are anxious to see it.
