Fred, I can't find an actual cool mist anywhere. Any brand suggestions? So far the humidifier is holding up.
As for the hose draining, it's tilted at an angle to allow water to run backwards towards the humidifier. No problem so far.

I've used "Holmes" ultrasonics before and they seemd to work fine.

it's not hard to find an impeller type if you go looking. Almost all pharmacies have them.

My advice, don't listen to fred. Now hes's trying to tell you a Holmes ultrasonic is a coolmist.

Ultrasonics are cool mists. At least that is how the term was initially used. I actually had a "Holmes cool mist" ultrasonic humidifier.
See http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/5870269/ for an explanation of how the term "cool mist" became bastardized to have no real meaning. Most of the humidifiers currently called cool mists don't produce any mist at all, which is just plain stupid and false advertising.

GREAT set-up man. Very nicely done! You can pick up a Vicks coolmist at any Walgreens or CVS for around $20 - $30. As far as not listening to FF...yea, sure sometimes he can be a smartass, but his advice is sound. Without drainage, you're going to have water dripping down on your casing (cakes, whatever you put in there). Even if it doesn't drip down onto your shit and just onto the perlite, eventually, you'll have standing water in the bottom of your FC, which will not only actually reduce your RH, but also invite contams.
Anyway, good job on your build, and good luck with your grow.
Peace.

Hey guys, I started my first grow a while ago. I tried to find the humidifyers but thought they were too expensive. I found a humidifyer called tropicair that is used for reptil cages. This works really good. I have a humidity gauge and it always read around 97-98% humidity. I think I bought it for 24.00 or so. Just a good product and wanted to share..
