day 10...minimal pining....why?

Day 10 since birthing. PF tek, BRF cakes. Perlite Humidification. 95% Humidity constant. Z strain. 5 cakes total. 3 cakes showing pins 2 cakes showing nothing except hyphal knots. One of the cakes with pins has one that is pretty big now, about 2 1/2 inches long. It showed up on day 6.
This is my first successful grow, I am concerned because of some of the other grows that I see on here that come along faster than mine. I know that I'm probably just not exercising patience.....but there are a few parameters that could be changed like my humidity....should it be higher? If so how would I acomplish it without a sonic humidifier? Thanx in advance for any response.

Two important things that you didn't mention... Light & FAE. What are you doing to accomplish these? If nothing, this would be your problem.

well im sure you observed not all the cakes colonized the same exact speed.
they won't pin at the same exact time either.
your humidity is probably fine. it may even be higher than 95%, its really hard to measure humidity over that and many hygrometers won't ever show over 95% even if it is over 95%... sometimes condensation forms right on the sensor itself and it gets confused in such a high RH environment.
10 days is about on schedule for pins to start showing up... some people see pins faster but there's lots of other things involved, maybe they simply kept them in jars longer than you did after colonization was complete... it gets there when it gets there though! you've got some pins, so chances are the conditions in your FC are maybe not optimal, but at least sufficient. the others should follow suit very soon. i wouldn't go screwing with things just yet, another day or two should tell you a lot! good luck.

Temp should be fine...100% humidity for your covering the fruiting chamber with either tin foil or translent plastic (all depends on how your fruiting chamber is set up) But give the PF cakes about 12hrs of daylight (per day), flourscent lights work too, and make sure your fruiting chamber is sprayed with water to keep the moisture built in (not directly on the cakes!!!) and o, yes at least fan it 3-4 times a day for 20-35 seconds. Like with a piece of cardboard. If the cakes look to seem to dry, remeber to spray your chamber walls and cover it to keep in moist. good luck
