Well this february I am going to arizona, I'm from Canada so peyote is pretty hard to come by here...do you think there is any chance of me finding some lophora williamsi while I am down there? I think a peyote trip in the desert would be pretty intense

Good luck, if you find any, let me know. I'm in arizona too and it would be great to try peyote.
I myself have never heard talk of it here though..

A. Harvesting wild peyote these days is something you shouldn't do, it's close enough to extinction as it is. There are other cacti which grow a foot+ a year, and can easily be sustained. You needn't come to the states to get it, but perhaps it's a desert trip that you want.
B. There's no peyote in Arizona.
C. Peyote is legal in Canada. Some headshops even carry cultivated peyote for a hefty price. Or you could grow it yourself, and wait it out.

I also live in Arizona and have not seen peyote in a while. It does not naturally grow in Arizona, mostly in Northern Mexico and some in Texas. Word on the street is, most Indians on nearby Native American Reservations have peyote that is not for sale but strictly for barter. I have heard in exchange for a bottle of alcohol, some Native Americans are willing to trade. I have not actually tried this out this is merely hear-say. There is also a place near Tucson that I have just read about within the past couple of days, although again I do not know much about it. You can find out more here: The Peyote Way Church
Let us know when your down here and how everything turns out. I have recently been quite intrigued with the thought of a mescaline trip and have been seriously contemplating purchasing some legal San Pedro cactus online.

you can easily harvest a peyote button without killing it . You can cut it off so it grows back...but yeah theres other kinds of cacti out there that are just as good

Yeah, and guess what it can't do in the years it takes to grow back enough to flower again? Reproduce.
"I have heard in exchange for a bottle of alcohol, some Native Americans are willing to trade."
If I ever did this, I'd probably be the most guilty feeling bastard on the planet. haha... wonderful symbolism.
To top it, I'd have to find a native american who would trade his reservation for a pox filled blanket.

I was just talkign to someone about this today. He said that depending on what your intentions are , peyote can be VERY easier or difficult to find. With the right intentions, you will find beautiful gardens of peyote.
