Since the White House told the world it was ok for Israel to attack Lebanon as a way of self defense, how about Turkey invading Iraq to fight the Kurd resistance (PKK) ?

Turkish Commandos on Iraqi Border By Mehmet Gokce, Seyhmus Edis, Diyarbakir, Mardin Wednesday, July 19, 2006 zaman.com
Turkey, who warned Iraq and the United States just a day ago that it was “losing patience” over the presence of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) on Kandil Mountain, is now preparing for a cross-border operation.
Turkish troops close to the Iraqi border were put on alarm, and all military leave has been cancelled.
Commando squads were deployed to the Iraqi border and massive inland operations are now being prepared.
The previous day, Ankara told the US and Iraq it was “losing patience,” and that it remained resolute in its attitude to the PKK presence in northern Iraq.
Commando squads from the provinces of Bolu and Kayseri were deployed to critical areas in the Sirnak region.
The 21st Gendarmerie Brigade located in Yuksekova, Hakkari, deployed troops along the Iraqi border.
A massive operation was launched to eradicate PKK militias in the region.
The mountainous areas in particular are being targeted with air strikes from Cobra helicopters.
To prevent terrorist infiltrations from northern Iraq, Turkish forces have been deployed to guard the buffer zones.
Reportedly around 150,000 soldiers are stationed along the Iraqi border in preparation for a cross-border operation.
Occasional clashes are occurring in eastern and southeastern Turkey.
Operations against PKK members are continuing in the rural areas around Elazig, Bingol, Tunceli, and Diyarbakir.
F-16 war planes were reported to be bombing high-altitude terrorist cells.
The death of 14 Turkish soldiers by PKK militants in eastern and southeastern Anatolia forced Turkey to take firm steps.
A consensus reached by the Security Summit and the Council of Ministers meeting on July 17 called for a cross-border operation.
Troops in the Mardin province are waiting to join a possible operation.
In addition to soldiers, around 70,000 non-military village guards are also readied.
The Turkish Armed Forces are expected to target Kandil Mountain in a possible cross-border operation.
Troops will likely organize air and land attacks on PKK camps in the region.
Special troops will also join operations to eradicate the 5,000 PKK members estimated to be hiding out on Kandil Mountain.
Nearly three months ago, 100 special Red Beret forces moved 15 kilometers into northern Iraq, and attacked PKK members.
Meanwhile, the PKK released a statement on its website and announced it will retaliate if hit by Turkish security forces.
The PKK is suspected of receiving weaponry and ammunition from northern Iraq.
