First spore print

I have just finished the first stage of making my spore print, stage 2 being waiting 24 hours. I cut a piece of foil which i wiped down with 10% bleach water and wiped down with a cotton pad. In an air-settled room i took out my mycobag with my 3rd flush of cambos (viels ready to break) and cut off a large cap with a sterilized knife, holding the cap in place with a pin. The viel was taken off from the cap in the process and was placed slowly onto the foil. I then placed a wine glass over the cap and stuck the pin under the rim of the glass to allow moisture to escape. Another note is that i made a make shift mask with paper and seletape to avoid breating on it. I am soo paranoid that this wont turn out ok and that it will somehow get contaminated but reacently i think im understanding the concept of strain isolation where contamination is more or less eliminated out of the picture. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Sounds good.....Hum..............
Me I am such a simple guy.....
I have always, just grabbed the biggest caps with my fingers and sniped them off with a pair of siccors and then ripped a chunk of foil off the roll . Then I place the caps on the foil, fold the foil over. Wait a day then pull the caps out and fold up the foil..........Simple fast and effective.
I think sometimes the sterile tech shit gets too crazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

lol, i agree. But wouldent a spore print with contaminant spores lead to a contaminated syringe which would screw up grain and pf jars?

yep.
im pretty lax at times on my sterile procedures, but if there's one place i go all out its spore printing. why screw up at the very beginning? you'll only waste lots of time and effort taking things a few steps further before the contam shows itself... garbage in garbage out! keep your spore prints clean! feel the burn and other such slogans!

Nice I do hope there isnt much bleach reside that will harm my spores. I wiped down the other half of foil that i was to fold over and then dryed it off with a cotton bud.
