    #5892286 - 07/23/06 08:28 PM (17 years, 6 months ago)

I love chocolate and so does  everyone in my family. My frtend gave me this and there are soo fucking amazing!

TRUTLES

1 bag carmals
1/2 pack of chocolate bark (for every bag of carmals)
3 cups pecans

Crush pecans and st aside. (I usually place them in a ziplock and crush with a rolling pin. It works for me.) Unwrap the camals and place in a saucepan with 1 tbs of water and let melt. take off heat and mix in pecans. make into round one inch balls and place on tray. Place into fridge to harden. After hard melt chocolate bark and roll camrmals into chocolate untill covered. now you have chocolate turtles. MMMMM there good!

i thought this was going to be about cooking real turtles with shells, sadly disappointing.

i do have a pretty easy recipe for turtle fudge cake or something like that somewhere, its choc-tastic

Yes, I thought this would be a nice turtle soup dish.
We use to catch snapping turtles, and sell to some
black guys, who loved that stuff.

turtle is pretty good eatin to me. ive only eating cooters tho, snapping turtle. i dont think i would eat a green back or mud turtle. my cousin caught a 15 lb one in the pond a few weeks ago and i cleaned it out. quite a pain the ass to kill a turtle also i had to shoot its head clean off wiht a shot gun and rip it up. it was clawing at me the whole time even after i wrenched its still beating heart out and laid it on the table i was cleaning it on. it was still beating when i was finished an hour later. the craziest part was the turtle too a shit on my hand as its final revenge when i was tearing some of this back leg meat out. i have a pretty good recipe for turtle if anyones interested.

When I clicked this I thought it was a recipe for a turtle. They're pretty common in Chinese or oriental supermarkets.

In China, and within the Chinese community, a delicacy is soft-shelled turtle. It's really good! The meat is like tough chicken; very full-bodied and delicious (and somewhat sticky), but the shell is the best part -- it's sort of like a tough gelatin but very flavorful. It's a real treat and equally as expensive; you only eat these things for special occassions like New Years.

Don't get bitten! Rumor has it if you do they will never let go, and the only way to free yourself is to chop its head off. There was a story I was told about someone carrying a live softshell turtle in a bag to take home to cook on the bus. The turtle poked its head out and bit someone's ear. Needless to say they had to take him to the hospital to check his ear out but also to decapitate the culprit.

Amazing how many things taste like chicken. Take snake for example...

Chocolate bark is type of real dark chocolate that is sold at most, if not all, grocerie stores.
