Yeah but he's sniping at people on highways, which I think qualifies him for the rank of copycat.

I hate when people use the word sniping when what they really mean is theres a guy out there taking pot shots there is a difference you know guys.

Hitting a person in a car going 65 mph sounds like a good shot to me.
Just got more intense, they are calling in the national guard and the infamous homeland security.I guess it was actually 4 cars shot at.
Gov. Mitch Daniels ordered the Indiana National Guard and the state Department of Homeland Security to help state police respond to sniper attacks today on motorists near Seymour and Muncie.
An Indiana State Police car sits at an Interstate-65 overpass near Seymour, hours after two vehicles on the highway were fired on by a sniper. The two agencies were on standby if needed, the governor’s office said in a statement. “We will not treat this just as a criminal act,” Daniels said. “We'll use any and all resources to find the person or persons responsible. And in the meantime, we'll make sure people can go about their business safely and confidently.”
Indiana State Police briefed the governor throughout the day. Daniels called for a meeting with the three agencies early Monday to hear an update on the investigation. Earlier: Extra troopers called out after four vehicles fired upon
Indiana State Police called in off-duty troopers today to help investigate four possibly related early-morning sniper shootings on interstates that left one person dead and another wounded. The gunfire in each case might have come from highway overpasses or from the roadway, police said. The victims were passengers in separate pickup trucks that were hit about 12:30 a.m. as they headed south on I-65 near Seymour, in southern Indiana. Two other vehicles were struck by gunfire later near Muncie and the Indiana 332 exit on I-69.
“We’re calling all of our available manpower we have out to scour the interstates,” said state police spokesman Sgt. Jerry D. Goodin, who asked that motorists call 911 to report any suspicious activity on or along Indiana interstates.
A 14-mile stretch of I-65 about 40 miles south of Indianapolis was closed for more than eight hours as police investigated the shootings. It was reopened shortly after 9:30 a.m.
Goodin identified one of the victims as Jerry L. Ross, 40, of New Albany, who was fatally shot as he rode in the passenger seat of a pickup truck. Two others in the vehicle were not injured.
Police identified the man wounded in the second attack as Robert John Otto Hartl, 25, of Audubon, Iowa. Hartl was treated and released from a Seymour hospital.
Brandon Bonnesen of Anita, Iowa, the truck’s driver was not injured. Bonnesen said he and Hartl were headed to Florida to work on construction jobs and were hauling a trailer filled with their equipment.
They were just north of Seymour when Bonnesen heard a loud bang.
“I cussed a little bit and I looked at my friend and he was bent over,” Bonnesen said.
“I asked him if he was OK, and he said, ‘I’m OK; keep going.’”
Bonnesen reached the Seymour exit just a mile later and pulled off the highway, parking in a Shell gas station. Employees there called local police.
The bullet grazed the left side of Hartl’s face, his friend said. There was a large bullet hole in the truck’s windshield next to the rear-view mirror. The back window was shattered, and the trailer had at least three bullet holes.
Goodin and Redkey post Sgt. Rod Russell said the shootings in both the Seymour and Muncie cases were part of a joint investigation. The Delaware County shootings occurred about two hours after the first gunfire was reported near Seymour. The two locations are roughly two hours distant by car.
“Our people up here will be talking with the folks down in Seymour to see if they are related,” said Russell.
The first report of an interstate shooting came in a 911 call at 12:23 a.m., involving a southbound pickup truck with three passengers on I-65 north of the 50-mile marker and the U.S. 50 exit into Seymour.
“The vehicle had three occupants, and one was killed as a result of the shooting,” said Goodin.
As state police investigated that shooting, the Seymour Police Department received a call from a gas station operator reporting that another southbound vehicle arriving there had been shot.
“We did not have any information of any prior road rage before the incidents,” noted Goodin. “That’s why we’re calling it sniper shootings.”
In the Delaware County shootings, an unoccupied car was hit by gunfire while it was parked by an interstate ramp at the 41-mile marker.
The other shooting involved a semi-truck, whose driver called authorities about 2:30 a.m. and reported his rig had been hit in the vicinity of the 42-mile marker.
Investigators were looking for evidence that might help identify the type of weapon used.
“We’re trying to figure out the trajectory of the bullets. It looks like it was possibly from an overpass, or on or near the interstate where the shots were fired,” Goodin said.
Other than the witnesses in the truck carrying the slain victim and those in the truck with the wounded passenger, authorities were unaware of any other witnesses to the shootings.
I-65, part of the only direct route between Chicago and Florida, is heavily traveled at all hours, Goodin said. The highway also serves Louisville, Ky., and Nashville, Tenn.

Same problem was with the John Lee Malvo case in DC. The use of the word sniper mislead the public into thinking the shooter/shooters where far away from the victims when infact many times they were as close as a couple yards.

Haha, that's true. I guess I should have held off on deeming it a copycat thing until it was more clearly the same style as Malvo.
