Sorry for the negative tone of my post, but I sincerely believe that psychedelics can be a very good thing, without any mystical belief structure added on for legitimacy. The fact that ancient peoples discovered the effects of the drugs and created religions around them is of little significance to me. That was their only avenue of expression given their limited scientific education. I'd much rather be able to approach psychedelics from a 21st century point of view.

I've used the SMCS several times and Pastor David has been nothing other than a delight. He's helped me with dosage questions with exotic (well, to me) strains and we've even had philosophical banter.
His organization was not simply a mail order shroom service. He was starting a church. In addition to providing the sacrament to worshipers in tyrannical nations, Pastor David donated much of the money received to charitable services. He also planned on eventually helping people build self-sufficient communities as soon as the church was financially stable.
So, it sucks that he's in jail and the church may be squashed.

I was very happy to see this church. I wish there was one here to support. I knew the door would close on the access to sacrament. Perhaps if sacrament was only offered to church members rather than offered to any who would donated. I think that would strengthen the religious argument.
