Are they worth it?

OK, obviously new around here. I've been snooping around looking of rinfo/opinions about mycobags, but I don't feel like I've found any straight answers. Do straight answers exist? What's the consensus on the mycobag?

do a search on them. the people who have used them (me not being one of them) have seemed to have some good results, there was recently a post in this section about 147grams wet or something. it was up for like two weeks, its a good way to start, if you really dont care about the way they look, cause they were some ugly lookin things(lol). if you dont have any supplies yet, they are a good start, cause all you need is the bag and a syringe. all i gotta say tho, whatever way you go, read read read, and then read more. you will never kno enough about mushies, until you get to like anno's level or so.

I bought a mycobag through sporeworks, and injected it with the puerto rican strian. and nothing happend. No I don't think they are worth it. But on a good note, we told sporeworks and they promptly sent us a new one. It may have bben that puerto rican may not have been right for there subsrate, I guess I will never know. But we are going to try a more grain loving strain next, perhaps equador. Good luck

To start out in your first attempt, they are a good buy......They are essentially an all inclusive Kit, but atleast a somewhat decent one. You sure won't find any fantastical yeilds from them, but they are easy to grow, and easy to conceal.....so what do you expect....

When you get more experienced in the field of mushroom cultivation, these bags are just impractical at best.

Johnny I beg to differ with you. I have found that on average that the myco bags will yield more than 3 cakes.

Half ass it? That's the thing about bags. They don't give you a chance to half ass your jars. I've done both. and four different sizes of jars. I just did the mycobags as sort of an insurance policy to have shrooms for sure by my birtyday. They were done in 26 days and averaged a dry 15 grams per bag on the first flush. I still love my jars and keep them hard at work. But I am seriously considering ordering more bags. Here's a fourth flush from a bag. It weighed 38 grams wet.

Pretty ugly huh?
That's an Ecuador from the Ralphster !

That is truly a wonderful looking shroom.

Wow. Nicely done. I'm assuming that contam risks are way lower with the bags. Now I'm thinking I should try it both ways.

Tell ya what I'll do man. If you decide you want to try a
bag or a few, I'll send you a free syringe of Ecuador.
That's what they seem to like the best. By the way, I am
in no way affiliated with sporeworks(other than we went
to the same college). Just trying to help.:peace:

Get outta town. People around here are deep-down good. I'm thinking the bags would be a good way to start. Fill me in.
Do you usually get 3-4 flushes/ bag?

That's what the shroomery's all about man.
Yeah I got 2 heavy flushes and the third and
fourth were fewer shrooms but they got real
big. One bag out of four got contaminated after
the third flush(I must have had dirty hands). I
still haven't completely given up on seeing a
fifth. Every time the shrooms are removed,
seven sprays with a mister are added (down
side of the bag, not at the mycelia) and it's
closed again with paperclips. Hope that
helps! PM me with your address if you
want the spores. :peace:

So I read about casing the substrate and mycelium from bags with worm poop. Anyone have any experience with this?

Waking thats what I m talkin about. I ve been getting similar results. You may want to try the TC also. TC seems to take a bit longer but the flushes are awesome. Shrooms everywhere. I have found to get the big flushes pick them early soon as the veil starts to break. I ve got several working but I had a bag of TC that i ve gotten over a oz dry from. TC isnt the buzz that the PR;s are thank god LOL.. I just finished some PR also and tried 4 g of them and wowwoww.. it wasnt the usual 3 hour buzz the TC had me used to lol... I had a few bags that didnt take and sporeworks replaced them immediately. Good company and hell of a product.

SG,

Not to flame you bro.....but I'll put my 3 cakes to the test over a bag.
1st flush, 2nd and 3rd flush....even.

The bags are a wonderful thing.....i think these bags help newbies grow confindence....and then they move on to casings.

As a method in which to grow mushrooms, these bags have been around for years. They are often used by cultivators of edible mushrooms.
