Ya this is normal regardless of what substrate your using or what method. First flush is always many "smaller" fruits, then you get fewer, larger fruits, till at one point you'll probably get one monster :P
If you don't mind this interjection (some might call it hijacking) I would like to also add to your question if it's normal for there to be a noticable difference in potency from fruits off the first flush or second or thrid flush??

Normal. Less competion for nutes means more nutes for that given flush.
-------------------- Getting the most out of your casings!, A pinning strategy. Oyster Shell "Flour" $2 for 1lb. a hell of a deal Not what is overlay but rather what overlay is Gas Exchange vs. FAE "We all have priorities. I used a closet once setup a nice little lab trouble was all the shit that was in there ended up in the bedroom that pissed off the GF then I ended up dumping her as she was getting in the way of my sterile culture technique! Ya I got priorities too!!!"

Sorry to bump an old thread but I have a related question. My friend is doing his first bulk grow (Cambodian on poo). The third flush is just starting to come up. The first flush yielded the largest mushrooms we have ever seen, 500 grams of them. However they grew spongy with hollow stems that split open in all different directions. When they dried, they really shrunk down and he ended up with only 30 grams dry. That means that the fresh mushies were far more than 90% water. They dried out to be the ugliest things I have ever seen. After a dunking, the second flush came up perfect. Cambodians are so beautiful! Now that the second flush is dry, they look nothing like the first flush. Is this normal? The first flush is so weird looking that he probably has to make chocolates with them or something. Any insight would be appreciated.

Everything you just said is normal. All the flushes, no matter how they look will be potent though.

I've heard that later flushes can be weaker in potency than earlier ones. Ive heard that this is the case with Coir.
