flores. light in high humidity? ok?

I'm building a pretty large fc and was wondering if anyone has ever put a florescent light inside their FC. The humidity in mine will prob range from 85-95%. The flor will be mounted on the inside part of the lid of a large Tupperware storage container. The light is 24 inches. Will the high humidity cause some kind of short or fire or would the light prob be fine? I have a feeling i should just build something that will allow the light to be on the outside, away from the humidity.

I have a feeling you should do the same.
A fire would be pretty bad. Not just because of the damage and possible in jury it could cause, but because it could get you busted as icing on the cake. I mean I'm sure there's lights out there (say meant for outdoors use) that would be fine, but why risk it?
Even flourescent lights throw some heat too and you dont want it that close to your grow. A heat source close by will still dry the surfaces of things.

mine has a cover over the bulb but fits very loosely. I know i can put it on the outside, I just want to put it on the inside because it would be easier. If there is condensation that forms on the places where the power cable gos into the fixture i feel there would be a problem. I'm just looking so see if anyone has had success with this or failed with it.

I have two nine inch lights attached inside of my tub and never had any problems. I work in a very very humid enviroment and we have flourescent lights everywhere, never any problems their neither, I would say as long as you have any spliced wires properly capped and insulated you should be fine,.

sweet. I was thinking about silicone caulking all the open areas around the fixture itself.

The heat is still a problem. Having any heat source in such a small area is going to cause problems. You better test it first and make sure it doesn't throw too much heat. I'll bet it will though.
