Sacred Mushroom Church of Switzerland
    #5886707 - 07/22/06 04:53 AM (17 years, 6 months ago)

Anyone heard of this place?

I found it a while back and thought "Hey, this is great. But how long will it last?" Not long... Here an article: http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/4788.html

This makes me really sad.

Pastor David is odd, but he is one OK guy and his Church was nothing if not admirable.

FUCKING lawmongers. Here's a man who sincerely (and naively) stands for his beliefs and they tear him down and treat him like an ordinary criminal.

It's DISGUSTING, and despite the fact it was all odd and naive: this is an assassination attempt on a true mushroom church, trying to nip it in the bud. Being naive is not a bad thing - it is being uncorrupted by the evils of the world. And they JAILED him for it.

Damn this feels bad

Pastor David, we're with you in Spirit,
in the end the truth shall prevail

This is based on US pressure. When I get my Bachelor's in Canada or the UK, I plan on renouncing my citizenship.

Last I heard the USA lets UDV use ayahuasca, Native americans can use
peyote and Church of the True Inner Light gets away with using DPT.
Who wants to start a church of the LSD children?

The UDV and the Native American Church aren't schemes to get legal psychedelics: they are legitimate churches who make use of entheogenic sacraments.

They're not "getting away with" the use but rather are on a legitimate spiritual path.

I can't judge the CTIL because I don't know it as well as the other two, but your LSD church sounds like a scheme, rather than the Real Thing.

I agree mine is a scheme.
I didn't mean the others were.
As for the dpt I meant "getting away" as in not technically
approved, but not prosecuted.

My point is the USA is not as unreasonable as it is portrayed.

BTW
I have the utmost respect for the native american culture.
I feel they have more to teach about life than any other culture.
I have always wished I was one, before the whiteys came and made
them live in casinos.

The rest of us should not be penalized for not believing in hocus pokus.

The distinction is quite easy to make. Is the "church" intended as an artificial construct to get at legal drugs, or do they sincerely consider it beneficial and spiritually enriching in the way their denomination describes.

With the NAC and the UDV I'm sore of it, just like with the core of the Sacred Mushroom Church of Switzerland.

The problem, just like with an internet forum, are leeches, the bad apples in the bunch.

As for "hocus pocus", this is about sincerity, not the content of the dogma.

Barging into a thread like this is the oldest trick in the book. That's, like, Warcraft 1 Trolling.

I have thought about visiting UDV to see if it is right for me.
But part of me just wants to do aya in a safe setting without going to peru.
I really beleive in the healing power of aya, but I don't think you need
sacrements to be spiritual. But maybe I want to be proven wrong.

The UDV has my interest too.

Aren't there local chapters where you live? Here in Amsterdam we have one, and I believe the UDV is a recognised religion in Holland, making Vegetal (their Ayahuasca) legal.

UDV = Uniao Do Vegetal = Union of Vegetal

----------------------------------------------------------

On 21 February 2006 the US Supreme Court issued its ruling on the case (See Gonzales v. O Centro Espírita Beneficente União do Vegetal, Docket #04-1084). The court unanimously ruled that usage of the ayahuasca tea as part of UDV religious ceremonies cannot be prosecuted by the federal government, in accordance with the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

There is only one chapter in the USA, I think.
It is in New Mexico. Almost 2000 miles from me.

But my parents have a house in that state, maybe it's an omen.

DISCLAIMER:
This is coming from my fried memory.

That your parents have a house there?

Nah you're right, theres a New Mexico chapter.
I can't find the information I want about their dogmatics and where they stand spiritially. I know the this and that, but I want to know it all.
