Pink Floyd/Led Zeppelin/Grateful Dead
    #5885483 - 07/21/06 07:23 PM (17 years, 6 months ago)

Am I the only member at the Shroomery who doesn't like their music?

Sure, I appreciate their contribution to the "psychedelic movement," if you want to call it that. But I just don't like their music. I like a few songs, but can't stand most of them.

Am I the only one here who feels this way?

I like GD 72 I think I have every show from that year.
I like PF animals, wish you were here, Dark side, as for live pf
I see no jamming, sounds like they are playing the album.
LZ as jimi said they just ripped off all of us (clapton, beck, beatles, ect.)
but they went on to be one of the most famous bands in rock.I don't like page's
guitar work.

It's an acquired taste...

You really have to feel the music to be able to best enjoy it. Led Zeppelin has such a raw sound to it. The bass is insane and if you've ever seen any videos (ex: The Song Remains the Same) you can see how much Robert Plant puts into his music. It's like he's in a trance the entire time!

Pink Floyd is on their own level. They produced some of the sickest music I've ever heard. They can make you feel high if you're listening to them sober, and if you listen to them high you end up flying. They really know how to carry you through a trip or even just some light meditation.

I haven't ever been able to get into Zep or the Dead but Pink Floyd is my favorite band.

Couldn't agree with ya less.
Always have had a place in my heart for all three of those bands.
Dread Zeppelin, however, sounds terrible.
So, if you don't like them, we can commiserate.

The only times that I've really listened to the dead were when I was at a shroomery gathering. LOL

Sorry, my parents grew up on it, and thus did I. I love it all. "Classic Rock" as they call it, is my genre of choice.

 Heh, I suppose not. I learned to enjoy a lot of other stuff as I got older, but when I was a kid, thats what it was all about, Just bluesy rock 'n' roll. Now-a-days I have pretty diverse taste, but there's always just something about those old bands that brings me back to em.

Floyd + Zeppelin =

GD = idk yet... need more of their music. I completely appreciate the movement and opening of third eyes tho. Which means even if its TERRIBLE it can't even be considered bad whatsoever.

I like some of the GD's tunes, but I don't think they're the sum-all and be-all of rock. I also like Floyd and Zeppelin even though I can't figure out what the hell Robert Plant is singing half the time.
