Does anyone use this technique?

I was looking through the syringes for sale on the smart botanics website and it mentioned an easy way to make a sterile spore syringe. It said you could inject sterile water through the veil of a mushroom which is close to breaking, into the gills and pull the water back up into the syringe. Has anyone used this technique?

I have never heard anything like this... sounds interesting though I don't see how there could be any contams inside the veil of the cap. sroomery elders what do you think?

It is feasible, but unlikely.
Spores are not fully developed, nor ejected, inside a closed cap.
You might pull out a few.
But, printing a cap would get you far more.

It can work but it works better with some strains than others. You need to find a strain that has a fairly thick and persistant veil and drops spores early before the veil breaks for best results. The B+ strain is a good candidate but I am sure there are many others. You can check promising strains by tearing the veil and checking for a dusting of spores on the inside. Any amount of visible spores is more than enough, even if the resulting syringe looks clear. You need to use healthy young specimens since bacteria can infiltrate the tissues of old and sickly mushrooms. Very gently swabbing the outside of the veil at the injection point with a small amount of alcohol will insure cleanliness. An advantage with this method is that the spores are never dried out and the percent germination is very high. This technique is a bit cumbersome and the syringe yield per mushroom is much lower than with the traditional spore print to syringe method. But it is an option for those that have contamination problems when making syringes.

It might be a good idea to inject sterile honeywater into the gills in order to make a LC syringe.

Cloning involves creating an exact copy from an original. This would be multi-spore and the resulting mycelium would be the product of two of those spores which is the antithesis of cloning.

If you have a fruitbody, big enough to do as suggested here.
You could also do a needle biopsy, and inject that into an LC.
That way, you could do multi spore in one, a tissue clone, in another.
That's getting 2 birds, with one shroom.
