new problem

On a single rather large casing. Whole rye cased 50/50 +, I have 5 mature mushrooms and literally hundreds of pins. I was just going to let the 5 get over mature in hopes that the pins would grow. The new problem is that there is now a small patch of green mold on the casing. Can I amputate the mold, harvest the casing and still leave the pins? Or should I harvest the pins as well when I amputate?

Sorry to hear about the contamination. Personally, I have tried to amputate contamination, but it only slows down the process of the contamintaion taking over the entire grow area. Personally, I would harvest all you can, and try to dig out the contamination, then see what happens.
