Stupid birthday idea
    #5882069 - 07/20/06 07:32 PM (14 years, 9 months ago)

A buddy of mine who has not had very much luck makeing anything on his own birthday is comming up. I want to give him som kind of jar or somehting that he could have.... I was thinking about some WBS in a qt masson jar with some 50/50 caseing and a polly fill lid.

Do you think this will work or try for somehting different?

You could give him a coloning or colonized jar of WBS. Give him a jar of substrate for him to spawn it into. A list of instructions from there. I wouldn't recommend doing it at a party though.

Well i gave several casings to friends and sold about 20 casings to people.
From my experience the easiest way is to give him a small casing with instructions.
My kits were simple, just put the casing in a bucket, put a nylon bag on it. mist&fan 2-3 times a day.
Those casings yielded an amount that people were very happy with, no matter that it didn't do the full potential of the casing, it was nice and gave good results.
all of course IMO.
good luck. and my first experience in growing was a kit that i got for my birthday, so i think its a cool idea  :stoned:

That should work fine. Do you have a PC and Silicone caulk? If so go get some micropore tape. Soak your WBS for 24 hours (WBS must be fully submerged), then rinse it with tap water, then let it sit in a collinear untill no drips are coming off anymore. Take a jar top and poke one pencil size hole and cover with micropore tape. Poke another small hole that your syringe can fit through and put a nipple of silicone on it. let it dry. then fill your jar about 3/4 of the way full of the drained wbs. dont tighten the lids fully because pressure needs to escape during pc. then wrap tin foil over the top of the lid. PC for 1 hr at 15 lbs. once it is cooled take the jar out with tin foil still on and tighten the top fully. shake up the jar to get all the clumps of WBS loose and wait untill it is fully cooled. Then take your syringe being VERY STERILE and inject 1-2 ccs of spores into the wbs.
