Nice Pics man....

Nice Snake Ass

I Went hunting a week or so ago with a fellow shroom member.. He brought his buddy who seemed he would have been better off left on the couch
Anyways He told me there was a cool looking mushroom back in that bush.. Over there!
I looked down and it was a nice 20 inch or so Copperhead.. I had my Snake stick and I reached in and scooped the snake back behind me..
The look on this guys face was one of Total Amazement at me going after this "Poisonous Snake".. And the other look was that he wanted to run like hell but was too scared to move! LOL..

Oh well just another snake story eh?

Man you're making me hungry. I need to get out there and grab some chants to go with all these okra and squash that my friend gave me. Might cook me up some veggie n' shroom stir fry. I love how you put poisonous snakes in quotes Yessup as I assume you know that snakes are venomous, not poisonous. I hate it when people confuse those deffinitions! Thamnophis sirtalis (common eastern garter snake)makes an excellent pet snake Mead. I kept them by the dozens growing up. They can eat almost their own weight a day in worms and toads! I had one once that only ate fish which is odd since I caught it in my yard a good mile from water.

I was just wandering whether garter snakes eat toads. Was hunting edibles near a lake with friends and there were a lot of little toads about. Tiny toads every where. There was also a rather fat garter that was caught that was to become a child's pet. I thought the garter snake was out and about chomping toads.

MeadMadeMe, your puffball shaped mushroom looks like a Sceroderma, they resemble puffballs but they are black inside and have a thick rind. Sclerodermas are poisonous.
