Fresh Millet...

Fresh off the field and dried millet, still on the stalks... hot damn!
Picked up about 5 lbs of it for $4.50 for my friend's cockatiel and cockatoo, but, my friend over-seas asked if I could get some information on it for her as she would like to start using it for her jars. She currently uses a cracked corn, quinoa, and flaxseed mix.
Am I right in saying that preparing it would be the same as with WBS (soak for 24 hours/boil/simmer/PC)? When she asked I kind of went blank. Would it fit in well with her current combination, or should she ditch the corn? Anyone have any real contam issues using fresh millet?

Do you really want to know a sweet recipe? that doesn't include all that BS about simmering and such?
Use wronguys recipe:
WILL FILL 4 LARGE SPAWN BAGS
Ingredients: 48 Cups Shredded Horse Manure 24 Cups Vermiculite 16 ½ Cups Wild Bird Seed 4 Tablespoons Kelp Meal 6 Tablespoons Canola Oil 21 Cups Water
Directions: 1. Mix all dry ingredients together thoroughly. 2. Add water gradually and mix by hand. 3. Add Canola Oil. 4. Load bags evenly. 5. Pressure cook for 3 ½ hours @ 15 PSI. 6. Allow to cool for one hour and remove from cooker. 7. Impulse seal bags on setting 5 for 5 seconds. 8. Hang to cool.
Use blue helix spawn bag tech to load them up...http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/4903111/an/0/page/0
Then use LC to inoculate the bags, USE 140ML injection of LC.
LC: 1 table spoon of dextrose aka corn sugar and 1 tablespoon of Light Malt Extract per quart of water. Fill quart jars half way. PC for 20 mins, let cool. Inject with 1-2ccs of spores, or scrape some spores in there.
KAZZAM!
When done incubating, fruit with whatever container you prefer. BTW I USE BIRD BASIC WBS. It works well for me.

Yeah, because there is so much substrate it needs time to penatrate. I personally do it to 2 hours, but thats wronguys recipe/instructions.
BTW the bird basic is cheap. Its like 8 bucks for a 50lb bag.
