I'm just practicing my ID skills - Dont eat them, as I think these are Jack O Lanterns (poisonous), a look-a-like to chanterelles. Hopefully someone can confirm my suspicions.

Here's a page on what I think you have. http://www.mushroomexpert.com/omphalotus_illudens.html

Sporeprint on black paper because these should have a white/yellowy print.

 Nice pics!

Are the caps and stems sort of fuzzy? To me, it looks like a Paxilus, maybe Paxillus atrotomentosus.

falcon has it. The habit on wood and fuzzy stem make these one of the more distinctive mushroom species. They should not be eaten. Although I don't know of any specific poisonings due to this species, they are a close relative of P. involutus which was relatively recently determined to be poisonous and which has caused deaths.

Feelers, Jack O'Lanterns are poisonous, but I am unaware of any fatalities caused by them. In North America they mostly cause nausea, vomiting, and fatigue. Most victims recover within 12 hours, although some take as long as a week (the fatigue is the main symptom that lingers). There have been a few cases where victims became seriously dehydrated, and a few cases have shown the worrying symptom of elevated hepatic enzymes (that means possible liver problems).

Happy mushrooming!
