LC showing 0 progress

I inoculated my liquid culture 5 days ago and have seen absolutely no progress. I see some little pieces of something that spin around when I swirl the jar, but I think that's probably just sediment that was in there from the start.
What would cause me to see no growth? Here are my ideas:
1) The spores died in the syringe in my mailbox when they arrived. I pulled them out at a little after 1 in the afternoon. At around 3, I measured the temperature inside the mailbox, and it was 107F. At high noon, I'll bet it was hotter. I heard spores start to die at around 109F... maybe there's a connection there.
2) Dud syringes. I got the syringes from spores101.com, so I don't think that's very likely since they're a shroomery.org sponsor.
3) Water was too hot at the point of inoculation. I let the jar cool down in the air for 30 minutes or so, then put it in the fridge for an hour to speed up the cooling process before innoculating it. The jar 'felt' room temperature, but maybe it was still too hot for inoculation.
Those are the only three things I can think of... can anyone think of other reasons the spores might've not grown? I already started another LC yesterday and did a few things differently (let the jar cool down for 12 hours, used 2cc's of spore solution instead of 1cc, and taped the cover over with just micropore tape instead of three layers of foil)
All I know for sure is that my jar looks like I did nothing to it, and after almost a week, I feel like I should be seeing at least some progress.

there's not "testing it out" if you dont see myc growth then domething went wrong. wait a little longer IMO but it does seem like you should have seen something by now.

More commonly your LC fails because you've put too much sugar in. What recipie did you use to make it?

200 ml water, between .5-.8 tablespoon honey in it.
There was clouding at the bottom of the honey, and some white shit floating on the top of it, but I was fairly careful to not let any of that get into the mix.
