temperature help!

what's the best way i can keep the jar/substrate warm if the room temp. right now is about 56?

will a heating pad work?
or a heating pad within a boxx or something to that degree?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I use an incubator that is very much like the Alien Incubator.
Large Rubbermaid Container with a smaller container on the inside for holding the jars.
3" or 4" of water....with a submersible aquarium heater to heat the thing up.
This is a great set up..... I have 3.
