Britain bakes as global warming kicks in

With 5 large companies spewing out more pollution than every car in the country it looks like here's another thing we have to thank the capitalists for
Think before you enjoy it. The near-record temperatures expected today are a sign of things to come, and will become commoner and hotter in future years as man-made global warming takes hold, scientists predict.
With the mercury expected to approach 100F (37.8C) for only the second time in Britain's history - but also the second time in under three years - researchers said the unusual heat was entirely consistent with predictions of climate change caused by rising emissions of greenhouses gases, such as carbon dioxide (CO2) from power stations, motor transport and, increasingly, aircraft.

I lived in England for a year, and the Brits have to be some of the biggest crybabies about "the heat" I have ever seen. Oddly, they refuse to take off their "woolies" and the six other layer of clothes they wear while whining...

Speaking as a Canadian that spends 7 months of the year burried up to my nuts in snow...I have no problem with global warming.

I've actually thought about how Canada is probably going to be the biggest benefactor of global warming. I may want to invest in Canadian agriculture.

So the socialists, communists, etc are at harmony with the planet? I've never actually been to places like china and india but they don't look like they have the most environmentally friendly practices.

Are China and India socialist? I thought China was following predatory capitalism to the nth degree backed by an authoritarian government.

Cuba isn't a liberal paradise. Countries like Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands are liberal paradises.

The Brits seem to like the fog or constant drizzle or both which I always found odd. But I guess to complain about the way it usually is gets old, where to complain about the occasional heat makes the complaint more valid. Or something like that. You still haven't explained why Brits don't wear shorts (pale white legs aside) when it gets hot? Off with those Woolies I say...Ta

Maybe many of them don't own a lot of shorts, since it is usually much cooler???
