 best deal on filter disks

need to get some filter disks (at least 20).
do you recommend one vendor over the other? why?
are all the disks pretty much the same?
been growing without them for years with no probs maybe i don't need them, will they help much?

The main thing isknow is they are tyvex made of tyvex.. Most expensibe way MMFD. Another route a whole big ass rolll (they won't cut it) for $114 enought to do a house. Next thing tyvex envelopes from target, don't know the price but was recently reccomended by Micron magic as an alternative to picking up some at the local post office for free.. They're in the front room of most post offices in a rack and they say
nothing if you get ten of em and ask em when they close on the way out the door. Test have proven that they work just as well. Oh yeah there's blue with a big eagles head on em and they're about the size on a peice of typing paper and feel kinda plastic

Some people have decided that the best way to get Tyvek is to STEAL envelopes from the Post Office. Some of their specialty envelopes are made of this material. If you are a thief, then this is the way to go. If you are not a thief, then visit a construction site, Tyvek (or its equivalent) is used there extensivley. Rumage through the refuse pile or ask the workers if you can have the scraps.

Look, An ex-friend snunk into my brother's shop and stole about 2grand in tools that he knew my dad had left me when he passed away. THAT"S A FUCKIN THEIF! Someone eased into my backyard and and took my winch of my 4WD. THAT'S A FUCKIN THEIF! About 5 years ago some kid came into my front yard and made off with my son's Honda XR80R. THAT'S A FUCKIN THEIF.
Every time I mail a letter that I think may be a little heavy(because it's got foil in it), I put on an extra stamp. When sending spores to the FSRE it cost 80 cents. I put 3 x 34 cent stamps on it. Over time I'm absolutely sure that I've paid enough extra to the USPS to pretty much cover the costs of a god damn envelope that's free to start with.
I spent the better part of a saturday trying to get different builder supply stores to cut a peice from a roll of house wrap.($114) The nearest Target is 102 miles away. (I forgot about polyfill) And yes at the last moment, I misused a free envelope. I don't feel like that make me a theif and I'm pretty sure I've given enough stuff away around the shroomery to prove that I don't have to steal a god damn thing.
(any replies to back this up would be welcomed)

Ask the workers if u can have the scraps, well why dont u goto the post office and ask the workers there if u can have a envelope and most likely they'll let u HAVE (for free) as many as u want. AND i'd prefer if u dint call people thiefs this isn't theivery, this is saving money and its smart! Wakinguplate is actually a good friend of mine and he is no thief, if anything he gives more then he takes! Stop hating on other peoples ideas, be happy for them cause they where able to come up with a good idea!

I agree, WakingUpLate and I are also friends and he is about the furthest person i know from being a crook that i know. by ASKING for something, that sort of eliminates the STEALING part, u know? this type of name-calling and mud-slinging has really put some of us in the community off, and makes not want to post to answer questions because we don't feel like getting the abuse that is sure to be dispensed by those who insist on flaming and being hurtful. the hate stops here, we are a COMMUNITY, not a dissenting mass!
please think about using loaded words before using them in a post, we need to be kind to one another and help each other, or the spirit of this place is lost.

If someone takes something that does not belong to them, and has not been paid for, that is stealing. Thieves steal. You can justify this anyway you want. It's still stealing.
If you ask for them, they may give them to you. They will give them to you with the assumption that you will be mailing them and paying for the postage to do so. Therefore paying for them in the process. This is all figured into the price of the postage. Try telling them what you want them for and if they still give them to you then thay are in the wrong as well.
Saving money by stealing is not smart.
There is no difference between someone who steals from the Post Office or the person who breaks into a garage and steals tools. I'm sure the person who stole the tools had some justification all worked out in his mind for doing it. Does that make it right?
People should stop trying to justify doing things that are just plain wrong.
To head replies off at the pass, have I ever done anything wrong? Yes I have. When younger I was able to justify to myself many things that in hindsight I shouldn't have done. I don't try to make excuses though. Wrong is wrong.
Giving more than you take doesn't make it right either. If I steal $100 from you and give away $60 would that make you feel better? If I give you many things and then later come and steal from you, do you then say "Well he gave me lots of stuff so who cares if he stole stuff from me?"
I don't hate peoples ideas and when someone has a good one I enjoy reading them and sometimes trying them Since when is stealing a good idea?
I do hate thieves though. Don't you?

I can think of plenty of examples that are considered acceptable that by this reasoning of yours that would suddenly been outlawed! the post office steals from the American people by questionable book-keeping--inflating their profits and its top dogs all gave themselves huge payraises for what they termed "a job well done" while a vast number of complaints at high levels (by corporations not citizens) sat around unprocessed. if you think that them giving you an envelope is stealing, look at what this government agency is doing to all of us. not taking the envelops isn't going to keep the price of stamps down for all of us, either, so don't blame all of us that DO get envelopes when your stamps cost 3 cents more!
did you know that the PO is supposed to charge you for using tape? have you ever been charged for taping a box? taking "free tape" is also stealing.........
i guess there's probably many of us that are dirt poor, and we can't afford to have this hobby at all costs, and people like you would root us out of the hobby altogether for that
very reason.

it doesnt matter what my intent with the candy bar is but the fact that i didnt take it without ur permission doesnt mean i stole it. Stealing would be if u put that candy bar down and then when u turned ur head i grabbed it and ran away. Thats stealing.

I never said the Postal Service was a fine orginization. Nor did I say they are run by a fine bunch of people. On the contrary, I think they are a bunch of asses, who need a batch of fresh blood, because they certainly aren't the best people for the job. For the reasons you mentioned and more.
My boxes are taped before I reach the post office, so that is a sad example.
I could not care less about your financial situation and have no wish to "root" anyone out of this hobby.
As for my illegal hobby, no one is affected by it but me. That's the difference. I choose to do what I do and as a result I am the only one who will suffer the consequences should I ever be caught. I have not taken something that doesn't belong to me.
Other than to say I'm sorry to hear what happened to you and to say I hope the scumbag was caught and punished, I won't even bother to respond to your last sentance since it is one of the more foolish parts of your post.

The candy bar is mine to give, the clerk who would knowingly give you an envelope for a purpose other than mailing a package is giving away something that does not belong to him or her.
And your right, if you DID NOT take it WITHOUT my permission, you didn't steal it.
Using your example, lets say you and I are in a store. You ask me for a candy bar and I hand you one off the shelf. Is it now yours to take without paying for it? I think not.
Will taking a envelope from the Post Office make or break them? No. It's still wrong however.

well-i really dont think wakinguplate is a a theif-i mean really lets be adults-he actually gave me lots of prints and actually bought me 6 raffle tickets(and 1 was a winner and thor contacted him about the prize and he didnt claim it he gave thor my address)

Well, I just had a great idea. I called my local postmaster(she's a friend of mine) and asked her if I could give some of those envelopes to cut em up for a science project. She said she'd send some out with the carrier monday. I told her a guy said that was stealing and she said it was impossible to steal something that is free. She also said you were probably the kind of kid to say "Teacher, Teacher, You forgot to give us homework!" and then twenty years later get busted for embesslement or tax evasion. By the way, if you ever get real broke and decide to sell a few of your shrooms, don't forget to file that income with your tax return or else you'll be stealing from all of us.
She was also wondering why we were sitting around arguing about stealing while everyone else was in church. I told her that under your name it said two inch dick and she said "Well, That explains it"
If you can't see the difference between someone sneaking at night and stealing something of value, and someone misusing a freebie. The you're just fucking stupid.

And as a final (from me anyway) response... the envelopes are there to use to mail things for which you will pay postage.
They are not "free" to take for anyother use.
Perhaps your friend the Postmaster should find another line of work if she can't see the difference.
Also I won't sell my shrooms because I don't deal drugs. I grow my own so I don't have to buy any as well.

If someone is giving out free samples and the lady says you can have one and you take one is that stealing? If she says you can have 10 and you take 10 is that stealing? NO
U are looking way too deep into this its not a big deal. If you dont want to take envelopes from the post office then dont but dont get all morality on everyone else who does when its not even a moral issue. I have a problem with stealing but i dont have a problem with taking something that free whether i use it for the intended purpose or my own purpose!
