is there a point where a mushroom gets too old to take a tissue sample from and used w. agar for cloning?? Thanks!!!

Personally I've found that cloning from a third flush or sometimes even second flush specimen causes slow growth on a petri and even slower growth once I transfer the agar wedges to rye jars. I've started to only use first flush mushrooms if I'm going to clone. I suppose my advice needs to be taken with a grain of salt though, I've always cloned using the h2o2 petri tek, which has been known to slow groth in and of itself.
