Mixing spent substrate w/ straw= Another grow?

I'm growing some Koh Samuis right now, and even though it hasn't even pinned (we're in 24 hours since put in the FC) I was thinking about taking it after the 2nd flush, so theres still some nutes, and mixing it with straw before while I wait for my next jars to colonize. Anyone have any luck doing this? Will the myc. even spread after fruiting has started?

there is alot of people that will say no. but i took a cake after the first flush and mixed it with worm castings and verm and it is spawning. very slow tho. the same time i too a fresh cake and did the same and it is almost ready to case when the half spent one is about 35%. so it is very slow comared to the fresh one and i dont know how it fruits until it fully colonizes. good luck

ALright thanks, I probably wont do it then. If its that slow, it will stall my next grow from going in the FC.
Any second opinions?

It's a bad idea. The mycelium has already gone from veg growth to fruiting stage. Not only will it be slow if it works at all, but the chances of contamination are very high, especially with straw which needs to be colonized within two weeks to avoid the green.
Always use fresh, rapidly growing spawn to go to bulk. RR

I too, agree with RR & Road.
This would only be a good choice, if you want to learn first hand about the full spectrum of possible contaminates, as well slow, stalled, and failed growth.
