with gin or rum?
I prefer gin.. it goes better with the lime.. and it's already got a pit of a minty taste

Never tried them. Are you familiar with Webtender? Pretty helpful cocktail resource. What's the recipe?

I don't drink any fancy drinks, Jack Daniels and apple juice is just fine.

JD and apple juice? What the hell does that taste like?
My Mojito = I take two teaspoons of sugar cane (the brown sugar crystals basically) and grind it in a blender with about 2 crushed limes. Mix with a few fresh mint leaves, a cup of tonic water, and a couple shots of gin.
Heaven...
Takes a little effort but it's worth it... Not too many bars make it, but the ones that do charge almost 10 bucks for one.

I like my mojito with white rum instead of Gin. This is my favorite easy sipping drink. Goes great with anything!

Yeah, I love some mojitos, too. I have had them with both gin and rum. I like both equally. The way I make them is to get some mint leaves and a couple slices of lime and muddle them in the bottom of a martini shaker, add some ice and muddle the ice with the mint and limes and add the liquor. Shake well and strain into a high ball glass and enjoy

I didn't even realize you could make one with gin. I thought it was strictly a rum drink. I haven't tried either way yet but I look forward to. They sound good.

I like 'em with Bacardi.
You know though... if you want to stay on the good side of your bartender, do not order this drink.
I was bartending about 5 years ago when these drinks first became really popular.. Was making like 50 a fucking day... SUCKS ASS.. You gotta grind up the mint leafs and sugar and lime, auhghh.. so much shittyness.

I drink them w/ bacardi gold, or some other medium rum like that. I would think a gin mojito would be absolutely gross.

Mojito with gin?
That's not a mojito.

Thank you sir.
Mojito= White rum, simple syrup, lime, mint.

This is true. Mojitos and bushwackers are a bartenders bane.

Mmhmm. I personally prefer a capirinha. White rum, brown sugar, lime.
