One of the better shows out there. Penn Jillette and the guys from Southpark are good friends, thats where they got the idea for the Scientology episode.

I loved almost every episode 'cept the environmental hysteria show and the one about drinking water.
Personally, I like the tap water in most of the places where I live but I can spot certain brands of water no problem. Evian in particular. I think it tastes like shit. Dasani, Fiji and Poland Spring are pretty good.
Their show on drug laws was awesome. Feng shui was hilarious too.

I dont like how they present the most ridiculous of representatives of the side they argue against. they choose easy targets, people easy to attack and defeat - especially with clever editing.

Exactly. Though they would never admit it, they have a lot with common with Michael Moore. Often enough, they're the one's who are spewing bullshit(except Teller, of course). Another thing that bugs me is the fact that Penn is a major asshole. Nevertheless, I find stuff in the show that I enjoy.

That's unfortunate, but I'm not sure I understand how that makes Penn & Teller "uber-liberal."

On the topics where I agree with them I think they're totally awesome, but when I don't I can't help to irritate myself about the way they present things. Especially on topics I'm egaged in myself I find their arguments flawed in many ways, also I don't like their populistic way of presenting things.

I don't agree.
They are biased as all fuck, true, but they are also fair. They give everyone their say. It may be painfully obvious which "side" they are on...but they still give the other side a chance to say its thing.
"skeptic" does not mean "unbiased"

As bi0 pointed out, they usually get the biggest idiots from the other side, who they can easily trample on. I strongly disagree with the notion that they are "fair." As I said, they're like Michael Moore.

The smoking episode was pretty blatantly one-sided as well. Also, when they were talking about genetically modified foods, they just interviewed alarmists who talked about messing with nature, and didn't address some of the legitimate health concerns about it. Simply put, they're bullies. And even though I do enjoy watching the show, and even agree with them most of the time, it's just sad to see so many people who think they're actually being fair.

Well they arent the final authority on anything. It's a "dinky little show" as they often refer to it as. It's funny how much it gets peoples panties in a bunch though.

well thats what penn and teller know how to do...they have always been about shock value...getting ppls attention...they are showmen and know what sells...but silversoul is right tho they do tend to come across as if they *think* they are the final authority

Not to hijack the thread, but if any of you haven't seen Penn and Teller Get Killed, it's funny as shit. It's about a practical joke that ...well ...gets them killed.
It's quirky in a Fargo kind of way.
