Ear pain and hearling loss

About a year ago I have been listening to music when I sleep. I still feel I have good enough hearing, but now I have this constant ear pain with slight ringing in quiet places. I know hearing loss is a sign, but what is Pain? I have also been having pain not in the ear, but also in areas around the ear. What does pain mean? Is hearing loss reversible?

Hearing loss isnt reversable.
Once its starts to go you might as well say goodbye.
Are you using headphones/earphones when you fall asleep? Do you play it loud? Its best to use a regular stereo system at low volumes when in a quite enviorment like your room at night.
Even being around loud areas durring the day is damaging to your ears. Contruction sites/concerts/or even blasting your music will take its toll. Theres alot of things out there that can contribute to hearing loss.
You might even just be getting a slight ear infection. You should go to the doctor and get it checked out just incase.

well marijuana always improved my hearing if i was in the right mindset.
sitting and deciphering tiny outside noises until i could hear them in stunning clarity.
but other than that? I don't know.
I hurt mine with headphone listening too.......

well its both hears and it hurts when I hear loud things sometimes, i dont think its an ear infection. Plus I can feel my heartbeat by my ears much of the time.

I used to get ear infections on a pretty regular basis a few years ago. It seemed that when I had a bad one coming on loud noises were more painful than usual. Same with the outside of my ears and the whole ear area being sensitive... Severe ear infections can cause permanent hearing loss or promote meningitis. But ear infection or not, if it persists see a doctor.

If you can hear your heartbeat in your ear that might suggest there's some swelling/pressure inside somewhere.
You definitely need to go to the docs, it's probably nothing but you don't want to chance these things.
