QUESTIONS!! HELP!

i think i didnt sterilize enough as i did the substrate prep. but heres a few questions: (I did not innoculate the jars yet, i left them out to see if they have any contaminations<--i read about leaving it out on a few different tek's so i thought i would give it a try)

1.if it wasnt sterile enough, around how many days will it take for the contam's to start colonizing? i thought it would be a good idea to leave it out since some tek's said if there are contam's in there, itll colonize after a couple day's, and if there is no contamination, then i can go ahead and innoculate.. So how long wil it take the contam.'s to colonize?

2.Also, i live around the bay area, and the temp.'s just dropped down in the last few days and the temp is around the mid 60's rite now(60?-70?), im attempting to grow out PR's....how long will it take to colonize in this temperature (any avg./assumption/opinion will be great)

I guess just those two questions for now.

1. Wait 3-5 days. This is a good idea because if the jar do happen to contaminate you will know if it is your sterilizing procedure or your innoculation procedure. All newbies should be extra careful their first time.

2. This is hard to tell exact figure but I would say 100% colonization in a little less than a month. At the fastest, 3 weeks. I would suggest a incubator. I suggest you read the FAQ

How long is "not long enough"?
Are you doing rice/verm cakes?
Wait a week or so to be sure.
He is right, it will take at least 3 weeks at this temperature.
