EMERGANCY!!! Time issue - HELP
    #5867130 - 07/16/06 08:16 PM (17 years, 6 months ago)

I have a mason jar that is about 80% colonized. It had been shaken and it is mostly colonized with thick white in many places. There are however some spots where the rye is not colonized (little patches). Well long story short i HAVE to get rid of this TOMARROW. There is no other way, i cant go into details but thats what it comes down to. I was just going to throw it away but then i thought of something. Last summer i took a 1/2 colonized jar and burried it and got a patch. I could get rid of my problem by putting the jar into a different substrate, it wouldnt be reconized any more as it is now. It would still work if i put it into a manure kit right? I became very happy when i thought of this because it solved my problem and the possiblity of not having to get rid of it and still getting a flush.

If i do sprinkle it onto a alluminum tray should i try to keep out the stuff that isnt colonized? keep it all close together so that the stuff that is colonized will just continue on and colonize the rest?

The less emediate questions are this. What could go wrong with this? It is more rye then in a normal 1 qt jar so there is more material then a fully colonized 1qt jar. Will it take longer or will it still be about the same time from colonizing manure to pin as normal? Any input would be great. THank you!

Yes, try to keep the uncolonized chunks out.
