Last weekend i left new orleans and went to orlando to help a freind move back from college. He took me to a state reserve where he had hunted mushrooms in the past.
We enter this HUGE park and he takes me down a road where the cows walk around. Well we get there and the area is full of cow patties, but the area was on fire in the past couple of months along with alot of other areas. So we drive around and go down some roads and stop to piss. We are next to an interstate in a secluded area in the park, we come to the end of the road and get out. I walk into the woods and hear MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hahah. First thing i see are a bunch of inactive mushrooms. Red colored tops, nothign special, Then i see cow patty's around and i notice a bunch of inactive copes and Bam! cubenis In the woods. The deeper in the woods i went, the more cow patty's i fount and for every 4 or 5 inactive copes i saw, there were a couple of real pretty cubes. When i looked under the patty there were many pins and the white fuzz was on the patty and around the base of the stems on the cubes. We left and drove back to new orleans where i ate them and had a wonderful time talking to cows as we drove past cow fields on the interstate

Not to be rude dude, but there is no such mushroom as an inactive cope. If they are copelandia cyanesens, which comprises 13 varieties, then they are all active, period!
