Potency and bruising
    #5865559 - 07/16/06 01:26 PM (17 years, 6 months ago)

I just harvested my first flush of GT's which were grown on hpoo. The thing is, they dont seem to bruise that much at all. Does this mean my shrooms are weak? or doesnt bruising say much about potency?
You can see them on my growlog

No one really knows whether or not bruising is linked to potency in cubies. I have had strong ones that bruised easily, and strong ones which didn't. Only one way to find out (chomp, chomp).

Right o, thanks.
I ate 15 fresh grams of cambodians grown on rye and hardly reached a level 1. They were heavy blue bruisers but didnt really do it for me.
I have these GT's now and am thinking of doing about 23g (just so i can divide up my 69g batch between me and 2 friends). I hope i will have a more magical trip as the last one was quite a let down.
The calculator stated 12.7 grams or there about for a level 2, i would have called it a level 0.5 :P

uhhh, 23g's is only 2.3g's equivelent... I'd do at least 30g's for a level 3

do 35g's to lose your goddamned mind!

Actually yes, psilocin is oxidized to a blue product.

Formation of blue oxidation product from psilocybin.

15g is nothing. 20g wet (about 2g dried) is the minimum that's worth taking for most people.

Well I also have 6 dryed grams of cambodians. I may make a nice tea for my frinds and I also. 23g of fresh GT's and a 2 dryed gram shroom tea each should send us on our way
But seriously, i dont wanna cross the line from a level 3 into a level 4. Im looking for a comfortable level 2 or 3.

You want about 20-30g wet then.

my GTs rarely bruise much, sometimes not at all. (whereas the B+ i work with most of the time, grown with the same methods, start looking blue/green on the caps before even harvesting them and bruise very dark.) could be a strain thing... but there's no problems with the potency for sure.
