Dunk & Roll with added nutes...

Is there a way to add nutrients to the water when dunking and rolling? It seems like if you could dissolve some nutes that are beneficial to mushroom growth when you dunk you could get more flushes out of a cake. Anyone have any suggestions?

Dunk and roll is adding a casing layer.
You want a non-nutritive casing layer, if your ready to fruit, you want your cake to go into fruiting mode, not colonizing mode... That's why you don't want to use nutrients in your spraying, or your casing... Adding nutrients after 100% colonization is a rediculous idea... That's like breastfeeding a 40 year old man.

OK but the cakes need nutrients in them to continue growing further flushes... otherwise the cake dies. What I was asking is there a way to supplement the cake after maybe the 2nd or 3rd flush?

that's not true, the myc has all the nutrients in it to grow mushrooms for all the flushes after it eats all the substrate, all the cake needs is water.

And dont forget... adding nutrients all over a fully colonized, fruiting cake, will give a lot of nice food for all the mold and bacteria that are floating in the air every time you open up your FC. Remember, we colonize in jars because they're not exposed to open air or contams, we fruit in open air because a colonized cake has no food for mold or bacteria. if you add food to it, it'll get contamed.

I didn't know the food was stored in the myc I thought the myc was a network for which to transport nutes to the fruit. my bad. thanks for clearing that up.

some ppl do that (75% hpoo water and 25% coffee) The coffee speeds up colonisation time but some ppl say it doesnt really make a difference to the potency. I brought the idea up of dunking in honey water, etc a while back and so did many others. Its a perfectly logical idea but unfortunatly its no good.

I used coffee in my jars, but could not say either way if it is better or not because this is my first attempt. I did have myc growth after 3 days and about 50% colinized after 5 days.

thats what I thought. I think it is the coffee but I have no control with this being my first ever attempt. And not a single contam... Yet knock on wood.
