It also amazes me how fast these are colonizing. I always figured that Weilii's took months to colonize but in a span of 2 weeks it has started forming massive amounts of sclerotia where i can see pinners just poppin directly out of them. The area is in a outdoor dog cage which had a combination of cedar chips, pine straw, leaves, dirt and sweet gums. The rate this is colonizing at its amazing.
Weilii is a lot more easy to cultivate then you think. I think the secret is that Weilii is a extreme woodlover.

It is quite certain that it is highly likely/feasable However, mass wild patches outdoors might prove otherwise. Sure they can eat dead wood, but they might not be western enough to live in the town while it's alive.

Not exclusive to wood, but it colonizes fast on wood.

Definately a wood lover, the soil here is red clay which is decayed pine trees and pine straw ( very acidic). Ive seen whole branches under the pinestraw in places that are completely colonized, Ill get a picture of that soon. Guess I need to start experimenting huh red, pm me and let me know how you started it. I did have some grow last year but they have yet to come back.

I agree. I found some weilii mycelium last year fruiting directly from a pine cone. I have the picture here somewhere...
