Dex Water

Someone a while back mentioned dex water instead of honey water as a means of producing a mycelium suspension. DOes anyone know what amount of dex you add to a half pint jar?

Another thing, has anyone added calcium(say crushed oyster shells) to their recipe for cakes and seen a difference? I added about a tablespoon to a batch and as they turned out with longer stems but the caps pretty much were the same size.

This works incredibly:

Fill one 250ml jar to about 1/4" of the top. Drill a 1/16" hole near the edge of the lid. Put the lid rubber side down or the way it should go. Cover with foil if you want.
Add 5ml* of Dextrose
Add 5ml of Malt powder
*5ml is one teaspoon

PC for 40 minutes at 15 PSI. When cool, remove the foil from the jar and place a clean piece of tape over the hole.

Quickly unscrew the lid and drop in a wedge of cloned agar and BOOM!!!! In 2-3 days you will have some killer liquid inoculant. If you have a good isolate, you will see your jars completely colonize in about 5-6 days.
