va_shroomer.. i know how to dunk cakes I always do that. I even do it before the first run of the cakes... but the dunking casings?? i know Hippie Chick does it... just wondering if anyone knows of a good thread that teaches how to dunk CASINGS... I'll check the teks again... don't remember ever seeing one.. but now i know what to look for now that I have casings!!!

This is the pins on the casing how do they look? oh yeah.. they are like 2 days old

Took the crazy growing mycelium cakes and made some cakes. How's the ratio?? I think i should of cut back on the casing? Is it okay though?

casing not doing so good... i don't think the mushrooms are suppose to look like this... the tops are getting brown and growth is really slow... a few mutations (probably from cleaning the pan with alcohol)...

here are some pics and suggestions???

temps are mid 70's.... humidity is... 95% ish....

I just redid my cool mist so now it gets more FAE.... before pumps were sorta going through too much turns to work..

Fat ass mushrooms like yours are from either high humidity or a substrate that is too wet... Try holding off on spraying for a little while, and fan a lot more often, try fanning for 1-2 minutes every 2 hours... Wow, i haven't seen shrooms that bad in a very long time :P

they got a little better...
what do u think? I made better FAE and alot less water... i guess the new shrooms are like like the 2nd flush. They still aren't as good as my cakes shrooms.. but i guess time and experience... let me get some feed back... how are the new shrooms looking

anyone know what cubes they are??

Looking better now.

My friend had the same ugly shrooms due to a wet casing - many aborts also. I would turn off the mist for a few days at least.

i dont know if they're just deformed/mutated to all hell or what, but that doesn't look right.

that could explain all the wierd growth and confusion... you might be growing something completely different than you thought. where did you get your spores? did those cakes you posted earlier fruit? what did those turn out looking like?

Yeah, the fuzzy myc is from high temps combined with really high humidity. Just make sure that you lower the temps in that FC, and provide plenty of FAE.

What strain is that BTW?

Edit: As I take a good look at those pics again, I think that I can actually feel the mushrooms' pain. :sad:

those are actually cubes.. i brought at spores101... i think either Penis envy, equadorian, puerto rican or something else.. i brought a four pack... HOWEVER, they look like non of them... the first ugly mushrooms don't even look like the 2nd batch of ugly mushrooms.... and the 2nd ugly batch don't even look like cubes.. so i don't know...

those cakes that i had i crumbled and tried to make a casing for... one of them hasn't started to grow mycelium.. but the other one did.... growing really slow though... doesn't look to good though..

I just dunked 7 cakes today... i might just case 3 of them.... to try again... and cake 4 of them to get some prints, and LC for the future...

I will succeed with casing... one day...

have you eaten some of them yet? those look strikingly similar to some kind of oyster mushroom.

i put my greenhouse 2hours on.. 2 hours off.. try to get humidity of 80 to 90% for my casing.. with good FAE... so they look better.... don't look like cubes yet though... LOL

I wish i knew what strain they were.. they are so deformed i can't tell if they are cubes (even though they are.. i only ordered cubes from spores101, and i birth successful cakes from the same syringe before)

FEEL THE MUSHROOMS PAIN??? how about my pain... i put so much $, time, effort....
I'm learning alot so it's no big deal.. but i wish i could cherish the FRUITS of my LABOR... if i had any fruits.... oh well.. wish me lucks..

This will probably be my natural co2 for the plants that i am setting up

could be a contam mushroom... *shrug*

2 on 2 off is probably why they're so retarded looking.

try 15 on, 30 off... try to keep the on interval just right to maintain humidity... because you're probably DRENCHING the shrooms every time its on for 2 hours.

2 on and off ... i turned it down...

It was on 24/7 before...

then i followed hippie chick.. 2 and 1/2 hours on... 1/2 off....

but now i did 2 on 2 off.. i'll probably do 1/2 on 1/2 off.. but i lost the pins to the timer.. have to get a new timer...

the 'oyster' mushrooms are looking big btw
