lower leaves turning yellow and dieing
    #5861791 - 07/15/06 12:55 PM (17 years, 6 months ago)

im not to good on nutrients for plants, usually i just feed water and its survival of the fittest for the plants, but i lost a lot of plants from a huge hail storm, only have about 10 surviving plants and as the topic says my MJ's bottom leaves turn yellow and eventually die, top of the plants are doing great but i rather have all the leaves for better growing...any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Leaves naturally turn yellow and die man, as long as it happens from the ground up you should be ok.

Needs nitrogen...not just MJ, most all plants will do this naturally. Apply something equivalent to 20-20-20 to help it hold onto those leaves (and develop more flowering sites) a bit longer.

sounds like a nitrogen deficiency. during the vegetative stage MJ takes up a LOT of Nitrogen, so they for sure need fed...just dont over-do it, that's worse.

when they start budding they will need a lot of Phosphorus and very little Nitrogen. So keep a close eye on their current stage of growth to know what NPK ratio to feed with.
