It has alot to do with that kid that committed suicide...and then the parents blamed it on salvia. I think he was from NJ.

As the exposure of salvia becomes more mainstream, and idiots continue to abuse this plant, you're going to see more and more states/countries banning Her. Certainly the U.S. is pretty close to doing so, IMHO. Too bad. Stock up now, as the price will skyrocket once it does! I have

Folks,
I hope they haven't criminalized salvia yet, in New York State. I don't think so, and the Legislature went home for recess, so we may be safe from their "protection" for a few more months.
A search at the New York State Legislative Information Web Site, at the following address:
http://public.leginfo.state.ny.us/frmload.cgi?MENU-37801767
Run Date: 07/15/06 05:54 PM
Summary below: three bills. None, apparently moved past the "economic development" committee. New York State is famous for its "dysfunctional" legislature, but perhaps this is an example of when it is beneficial to have incompetents in office. The salvia bills seem to have gotten pigeonholed in committee.
If anyone knows otherwise, please let me know.
************** LIST OF THREE BILLS AFFECTING SALVIA IN NEW YORK STATE ************
Bill No. A4412A Heastie -- Prohibits the sale of salvia divinorum to persons in New York state A11469 O'Donnell -- Prohibits the sale of salvia divinorum to persons in New York state S4987A FLANAGAN -- Prohibits the sale of salvia divinorum to persons in New York state
************ BELOW IS THE STATUS OF THOSE THREE BILLS ***********
STATUS: A4412-A Heastie Penal Law TITLE....Prohibits the sale of salvia divinorum to persons in New York state
02/10/05 referred to economic development 05/13/05 amend (t) and recommit to economic development 05/13/05 print number 4412a 01/04/06 referred to economic development
STATUS: A11469 O'Donnell General Business Law TITLE....Prohibits the sale of salvia divinorum to persons in New York state

STATUS: S4987-A FLANAGAN General Business Law TITLE....Prohibits the sale of salvia divinorum to persons in New York state
04/18/05 REFERRED TO CONSUMER PROTECTION 05/24/05 1ST REPORT CAL.1183 05/25/05 2ND REPORT CAL. 05/31/05 ADVANCED TO THIRD READING 06/06/05 PASSED SENATE 06/06/05 DELIVERED TO ASSEMBLY 06/06/05 referred to economic development 01/04/06 died in assembly 01/04/06 returned to senate 01/04/06 REFERRED TO CONSUMER PROTECTION 02/16/06 AMEND AND RECOMMIT TO CONSUMER PROTECTION 02/16/06 PRINT NUMBER 4987A 04/04/06 1ST REPORT CAL.633 04/05/06 2ND REPORT CAL. 04/10/06 ADVANCED TO THIRD READING 04/11/06 PASSED SENATE 04/11/06 DELIVERED TO ASSEMBLY 04/11/06 referred to economic development
***** SUMMARY *******
Looks like none of them have been passed on to Governor Pataki for Signature. Let's hope they don't. At least, as I understand it, the bills seem to focus on "sales" of salvia, and not possession or cultivation, but I haven't read the full text of all three bills lately. What a fucking stupid society -- we push drugs that make people stupid, fat, lazy, and cause lung cancer, and throw people in prison for using magic plants. Fucking idiots.
Peace

I tried ordering a large amount of Salvia for safekeeping before it was banned in my state. They wouldn't ship it to me, understandably so to cover their asses, even at one month before the law went into effect.
Get some plants. You can share the love and knowledge that way too.

I wonder, would one be able to order a plant if they lived in an effected state that's considering a bill?
