this might be a noob question, but if you dont have a pressure cooker, can you just use something that boils at a higher temperature?

a sugar/water or glycerine/water mix can both be created that will boil at around 130 deg. C, which i understand is the temperature of a pressure cooker.

problem is you have moisture inside your jars.

that's regular water.  it still boils at only 210, unless under pressure.

(insert crackpot theroies about using sugar water in jar instead...)

there's lots of things you can do.  its best to either just steam sterilize pf style jars in a regular pot, or just invest in a PC though.  people can argue it all day and come up with some ideas that sort of work, so sure its possible... i think its easier to stick to the basics and do what works, the right way.

Fractal sterilization works.

But, it is a slow cumbersome process.
