symbiosis or myco battlefield?

hi fellow cultivaltors! i'm now trying some compost/castings (from organic waste compost pile) and straw as substrate and i have innoculated it with straw spawn... what happened next is weird - i realized it had contamed (by some gray/dark green mold) but for some reason i didnt throw it right away - those contams growing rather in the straw begun to give place to very rhizomorphic mycelium... could it be a benefical microorganism or is it just a myco battle? (or perhaps both?) anyways... i think i'll keep them unless contams take over... thanks everybody...
