How common is it in Florida, if it even grows? Would it be worth searching for? I know there isn't many birch trees here (if any).

I don't have much experience hunting in Florida, but you mentioned birch trees. In my area I find Muscaria the most under white pine (coniferous, long needles).
I never find them under deciduous/hardwood trees.
Be careful with Amanitas, as there are poisonous and deadly species in the genus. You shouldn't go and eat any without getting someone with experience to look at it first.

I will keep this in mind. Thanks.

Yeah, they really seem to dig long needle type pines, from my experience the younger trees. I've seen posts with A. muscaria being found in Florida before.

I've never found them before, and I'm in the southwest portion of the state.
I have heard of them growing abundantly in the Pensacola area.
And I've heard a report of them growing in Jacksonville.

Around here they're constantly growing under pines, i've also found them growing in surprisingly large clusters under picnic tables.

I think you would have better luck finding them on the internet than finding them in Florida. I've lived in Florida for 50 years and I have yet to see one in the wild. The only I've seen was in a smoke shop here a few years ago.
