I have put the intake of clean air above the floor of the box...
So if its not directly blowing on what I'm working on will it still keep things contam free?

The purpose of a glove box is to work in a still air environment and the addition of air intake could pose some problems unless the air is filtered with the efficiency of a HEPA filter at optimal filtration rates.

IME yes. RR will tell you different, but I've used a non-laminar flow design before and it worked perfectly.

Your title said it all. "Faulty GloveBox Design".
In addition to the filter which shouldn't be there, it is much easier to work in a glovebox that you can see through. You want the sides and top to be clear. You can cut a window above your arm holes, or just start over with clear container. The two arm holes are all you want. Gloveboxes work by having still air, not sterile air inside. A cheap paper filter will give neither. It looks like you also have a small hole on the left side of the box to fill in. RR

In LadyToadstool's defence I would point out that that probably IS a hepa filter. And also that I assume that she plans to have a clear lid on it so she can see into it.
If both of those assumptions are correct it will probably work fine.

Yes that is a HEPA filter... with a another air purifier that is not Hepa in the place of what would be a computer fan.
this is half a flow hood and half a glove box.
The lid has a pexi glass window where I can see fine... I have used this before and it worked. I just want to know if I should consider changing the design to be ABSOLUTLY sure.

And about the small hole... it used to be connected to a small light. Ive taken the box apart for storage... was a lot nicer before.
Silicone should do the trick...

If it works I would just keep using it. If you want to check it, open a petri dish for a minute or so in the airflow, then see if anything grows.

I use my kitchen, but I used a glove box for a GTG once and got mean green.
